Discovering Poblenou del Delta

Poblenou Delta is a small colonial town that can be found in the southern part of the Delta de l’Ebre. Although it was originally founded in 1956 under the name Delta Villafranco, in 2003 the name change, remaining in the current Poble Nou Delta became official.

The white houses with interior garden courtyard and give the people their characteristic touch, different from other towns that are nearby. Poblenou Delta is a very quiet town, where you can enjoy typical cuisine of the Delta, and landscape with rice fields surrounding it. Among its attractions are els Eucaliptus, Tancada the lagoon or the center of the Casa de Fusta.

WHAT TO SEE NEAR THE DELTA POBLENOU?

In the vicinity of Poblenou del Delta, include:

  • The Ullals Baltasar: is among orchards and rice fields and forms one of the most outstanding suggestions lands inland freshwater Ebre. In it we can enjoy watching turtles, frogs or bee-eaters that are camouflaged amid a landscape of eucalyptus trees and water lilies.
  • Fangar lighthouse is a tower light indicating the boats proximity to the tip of the Fangar. It is situated in the middle of the beach.

  • Eucaliptus beach. Platja is located where Trabucador. In it you can practice kite surfing, or just fly kites.

As for sports activities in Poble Nou Delta we can also do kayaking in the Bay of Alfacs, or cycling trips through the Natural Park of Delta de l’Ebre.
